Our History
Founded in 1980 by Dan and Robert Sterling, Stockbridge Risk Management, Inc’s corporate charter was established to provide independent, unbiased counsel to a wide variety of businesses in the area of risk and insurance. For over four decades, our seasoned professionals have been providing superior customer support and successfully improving the insurance programs of our clients, while reducing or containing their cost for risk and insurance. Stockbridge’s history now spans three generations, as Robert’s son Benjamin joined the firm in December of 2016. Today, Stockbridge employs fourteen consultants with a total staff of 20, serving more than 200 clients nationwide as independent risk and insurance professionals. Because we do not sell insurance, we are able to objectively determine the solutions that are right for your company.

- Jordyn Timpano
Kisha has over 20 years of experience negotiating coverage terms and identifying exposures for Commercial Property, General Liability, Professional Liability, Bonds and Worker Compensation lines of coverages. Prior to joining Stockbridge in 2021 as an Associate Consultant, Kisha was a Senior Account Manager for a Property & Casualty Insurance Broker servicing a large volume of accounts. Kisha consults for a variety of accounts with a focus on real estate, education and hospitality. She holds a Property & Casualty insurance license.
Maryanne Durka | ARM
Maryanne has twenty-eight years’ experience in the insurance industry. Prior to joining Stockbridge, Maryanne was with Liberty Mutual where she held the position of Account Executive for fourteen years and Business Underwriter for two years. Maryanne received her Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from St. John’s University, has obtained her Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation, and currently holds her insurance consulting license.
Prior to joining Stockbridge in December of 2018, Ross worked at a major New York insurance company for 10 years in various positions including his last as Senior Home Office Underwriter. Ross functioned as referral underwriter for the company’s regional offices to help create, update and maintain underwriting guidelines and standards. Ross’ experience has provided him with a strong knowledge of the exposures, coverage forms and the marketplace for commercial real estate and hospitality risks. Ross holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Binghamton University and has earned his Associate in Commercial Underwriting (AU-M) and Charted Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
Barbara Fuchs
Barbara has been with Stockbridge since 1992 and has over forty years’ experience in the industry. Barbara provides support to our senior consultants by preparing account-specific insurance specifications, as well reviewing policies, binders, and certificates to ensure conformity and compliance. Barbara holds a bachelor’s degree from C.W. Post, as well as her insurance consulting license.
Gina Garrett
Gina joined Stockbridge in April of 2003 as an Assistant Consultant. Prior to joining Stockbridge, Gina was employed with Liberty Mutual for fourteen years, holding various positions in the Business Market Department. Gina has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from St. John’s University and has been licensed in Property & Casualty Insurance since 1996.
Neil Goldstein
Neil has worked in the insurance industry since 1987. Prior to joining Stockbridge, Neil was an Assistant Vice President for a National Brokerage firm handling specialty coverages for Fortune 500 companies. Neil’s experience also includes working for a division of Insurance Services Office (ISO) as a field-rating representative. At Stockbridge, Neil consults on a wide variety of clients including real estate, product manufacturers and entertainment risks. Neil holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Ithaca College and is pursuing his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
Angelica Hanley
Angelica joined Stockbridge in 2024. Prior to joining Stockbridge, she worked as the Insurance Coordinator for a Design-Build firm where she gained valuable insight into the unique challenges faced by General Contractors working within New York City. Over the years, Angelica has applied her insurance experience to a wide range of industries, including Government, Travel, and Auto. Angelica holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from the University of California, Irvine and a Post Graduate Diploma in International Relations from the University of Essex, England. She continues to enhance her knowledge through various insurance-related courses to effectively service our clients at all levels.
Rei Hirasawa
Rei is a licensed Property & Casualty Insurance Broker and Consultant with over nineteen years of experience in the industry. Her background includes in-house risk management in the Transportation and Cargo group of an international trading company, as well as large brokerage experience in the risk management, middle market and reverse flow arena. Over the years, Rei has worked with risks in a wide range of industries, including consumer electronics, manufacturing, pharmaceutical, entertainment, hospitality and real estate. Rei holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and History from Binghamton University and continues to enhance her knowledge through various insurance-related courses to effectively service our clients at all levels.
Susan has extensive experience in the insurance industry with the majority of her experience gained as a Consultant with Stockbridge. Prior to her role at Stockbridge, Susan began her career as a broker servicing middle and large market accounts in the retail, manufacturing and real estate sectors. Following her first stint with Stockbridge, Susan took a leave from the insurance industry and began a second career in software technology bringing products from concept to market. In her return to Stockbridge, Susan consults for a diverse group of accounts in the real estate, institutional investment manufacturing and distribution markets. Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts from Ohio Wesleyan University, a Property & Casualty Broker’s License and a Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation.
Steve began his career in the insurance industry in the 1980’s and has worked at several large brokerage houses along the way. Prior to joining Stockbridge as a Consultant, he spent 16 years as a Senior Account Manager/Team Leader managing a variety of coverages for a diverse client portfolio with a concentration in real estate. Steve attended Adelphi University with a major in accounting, holds a NY State Property & Casualty broker’s license, and continues his education by keeping abreast of ever-changing industry coverages and trends.
Janildis Rodriguez
Janildis has been in the insurance industry for over 16 years and joined Stockbridge in 2023 as an Associate Consultant. She has worked in various roles beginning her career as customer service representative for a retail brokerage and then progressing to underwriting at a wholesale insurance agency. She is committed to providing the highest level of service, and she takes great pride in her work. She holds a NY Property and Casualty Broker’s License and is bilingual in English and Spanish. In her free time, Janildis enjoys outdoor activities such as hiking and loves to learn new things.
Susan Rutherford
Susan joined Stockbridge in February of 2005 as an Assistant Consultant. Prior to joining Stockbridge, Susan was employed with Liberty Mutual for eleven years, seven of which were spent as a Commercial Lines Underwriter in their Business Market Department. Susan has a Bachelor of Science degree in Management from St. John’s University, and currently holds her insurance consulting license.
Andrew Saal
Andrew joined Stockbridge in March of 2023 as a Consultant. Prior to Stockbridge, Andrew was a senior attorney at Starr Insurance Companies, where he advised personnel in the claims department on litigation, transactional, and regulatory matters. At Starr, Andrew counseled claims managers on high-exposure coverage issues, and handled a docket of coverage and bad-faith litigation matters across all lines of the company’s casualty business. He also provided legal support for a variety of new business initiatives and partnerships.
Andrew started his career as a complex commercial litigator at two international law firms in New York City, where he litigated a variety of commercial disputes. Andrew graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Cornell University and a Juris Doctor from Georgetown University.
Hope Slovin
Hope has been with Stockbridge since 1999 and is Office Manager and the Executive Assistant to Bob Sterling. Hope graduated SUNY Stony Brook where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology. Hope oversees all administrative functions ensuring the smooth operations of both Stockbridge Risk Management and Stockbridge Resources.
Robert Sterling, ARM
Bob is a co-founder and President of The Stockbridge Group. In addition to Bob’s responsibility as Chief Executive Officer of the firm, he runs various educational and technical seminars on insurance related subjects for CPA and law firms. Bob also performs due diligence work for mergers and acquisitions and serves as an expert witness in insurance litigation. Bob holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Boston University and received his Associate in Risk Management (ARM) designation in 1985.
Faith Sterling, CPCU
After 40 years in the insurance industry and retiring in 2022, Faith is excited to head in a new direction. In May 2024, she achieved an ACC accreditation from the International Coaching Federation. Faith focuses on coaching individuals in midlife transitions, helping them lead themselves and others toward positive energy and growth. Whether it’s relocating, re-evaluating connections, starting a new career, or embracing retirement, coaching can help align a path forward with personal values transforming the stress of change into powerful growth. Benjamin Sterling, CPCU
Ben joined Stockbridge in December of 2016. He began his career as a Commercial Lines Underwriter for GNY Insurance Companies, where he underwrote real estate risks consisting of multi-family, mixed use, commercial and industrial portfolios, with a total book of $3.5 million in premium. Following his tenure at GNY, Ben served as an Account Executive for Hub International, where he specialized in middle market Real Estate, Hospitality and Construction risks, with insurance budgets ranging from $100,000 to $1,000,000. Ben holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Northeastern University, and received his Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in December 2016.
Prior to joining Stockbridge in 2022 as an Associate Consultant, Jordyn managed a commercial and personal lines insurance agency where she gained invaluable insight in providing exceptional service to her clients. At Stockbridge, Jordyn consults for a diversified book of accounts including real estate development and property management, manufacturing, and commercial lending. Jordyn has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management and Professional Communications from Farmingdale State College.
